Obituary

In memory of Ambrose Blaine. Late of Ballinasloe, Co Galway and formerly of Castlebar, Co Mayo. Beloved husband of Frances, whom he adored for over 55 years. He was a devoted brother, father and grandfather. Ambrose was a great character, always positioned himself in interesting company and shared many happy times with his wide circle of friends. He loved nothing better than having a chat over a nice pint of Guinness, especially if you were talking about his beloved Mayo. He knocked great craic out of being a Mayo football man living in Galway. Ambrose had an interest in many sports. He loved to follow the racing. He had much success in the 1970s training and racing greyhounds. He was a proud trainer of the winner of the Longford Derby. Ambrose worked for the Department of Agriculture for over 40 years and travelled the country making many friends and acquaintances along the way. We remember him fondly and miss him deeply.
